It is no secret that parenting is one of the most rewarding and challenging projects we will undertake in life. Every stage seems to bring its own unique and complicated choices. The truth is that while we are going through the stages, it is almost impossible to pause, step back and see the big picture. We are too lost in the trees to be able to see the whole forest.
Even though so common, honest and vulnerable conversations about the many challenges of parenting are much too rare in our communities. We put on a brave face and pretend that we are doing way better than we are.
This is why my clients and students are so surprised when they are being so hard on themselves and I reveal some of my not-so-fine parenting moments. Too many mothers believe that they are the only ones going through challenges and are surprised to learn that their challenges and reactions are not that uncommon. That in fact, they are part of the parenting journey.
The good news is that despite the mistakes, as long as we are intentional, keep learning and growing along the way, our children do turn out okay [not perfect] in the end.
The key is to be intentional, learn what works and do more of that, and repair mis-takes to the best of your ability. All the while being compassionate to yourself.
This is of course, easier said than done. And a community of like minded mothers traveling the path with you REALLY helps.
Research shows that support groups provide healthy parenting skills, an increased sense of empowerment, and a feeling of belonging. They remind parents that they are not alone, they allow us to learn from each other and create a community of support around us when we need it.
It is for this reason that I am so very excited about my latest project that I am currently dreaming about:
A membership hub for parents full of resources and community support to:
1. Parent intentionally
2. Be compassionate towards ourselves as mothers and
3. Build strong Muslim families.
Because I have been doing parenting workshops, working with parents like you and raising my own children for more than two decades, I have accumulated a library of so much helpful content that I would love you to benefit from.
There are many things we still need to work out and details that need to be decided. But first – before I go any further with this - I need to check if this would be something useful for parents like yourself.
Meaning, if you join me as a founding member and you’re willing to help contribute ideas on how we can make this THE best place to support Muslim moms in raising kind and responsible adults while looking after your own wellbeing and building strong Muslim families, I’m willing to extend a very favorable "founding member" price.
When this offer is extended to the general public, I anticipate the starting price for this to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $27 – 37 USD per month.
Of course, I am not expecting you to pay that.
I'm opening up a very limited number of lifetime spots [only for women at this point] into my membership for just $200 USD.
While most of the lifetime spots are already taken up, I do have a few remaining still.
This means that you'll get to be a member for the life of the membership without ever paying a monthly fee like everyone else. This will help me off-set some of the costs of developing the membership and the membership platform so that it provides the best experience for members.
But here's the catch… I'm only offering this to a very limited number of mothers like you who are already part of my inner circle and who know and support the work. And if this idea is to move forward and be sustainable, I can only do this for a few parents who are ready to make the commitment now, without knowing all the details. The lifetime option for this membership at this price will not be offered again.
So if this is something that interests you, please vote with your wallet by signing up here and let me know that you are ready to be a part of this pilot project.
If enough people join as founding members, I will know that this is something that is needed and will start working on it asap, and will inshallah launch it next month or so for the founding members.
If you do sign up by paying the
$200USD and it turns out there is not enough interest to make this project feasible, I will of course return your investment and focus on to other ways to support you.
Thank you so much for reading this far! If you have any questions, please do ask by replying to this email.
And if you are ready, now, please go ahead and
sign up. I will make the decision whether or not to go ahead within the next couple of weeks or earlier if there is enough commitment.
